Custom & Factory Shifters

Toploader Heaven transmissions are available with your choice of Factory or Custom shifters. Our supply of factory shifters is very limited and most of them are offered only with a transmission purchase. Please inquire as to shifter availability for your particular application at (580) 229-1779.

Our custom shifters are offered only with our toploaders or on an exchange basis against restorable original factory linkage.

About our Custom Shifters:
1. Our custom shifters are hand crafted with custom built linkage rods.
2. The shift rods are closely grouped for smooth positive shifts.
3. The control box is modified to accept the correct factory handle as a bolt-on attachment similar to all factory units. 
4. The shift handle is positioned in the correct placement for your application. It is guaranteed to work perfectly with or without a floor console.

Quick and Clean

Talk about the best of both worlds, these shifters will make you smile in your sleep. While you'll have a factory look inside your car, you will also have a much shorter shift throw than a Ford unit.

For example, the shift throw on my 64 & 1/2 thru 1968 Mustang custom shifters is 2 inches shorter than a factory Ford unit. My shifter has a noticeably tighter shift pattern and narrower gait. In other words, when you shift from low to second, or third to fourth, the distance the handle travels between gears is two inches closer with my shifter. (Note: This distance is gauged at the top of the shift handle and is a true two inches.)

If you haven't shifted a Toploader Heaven custom shifter, you may have this question, "How does Ford's factory shifter compare to ours?" Answer: Like a Model T to a Mercedes. No comparison! These custom shifters are a Toploader Heaven exclusive item. They cannot be purchased anywhere else in the world.

It has taken me years to perfect the methods and quality assurance incorporated in these shifters. The process is very time consuming. I personally build every custom shifter from start to finish. I constantly strive to find faster production methods, which will allow greater volume without sacrificing quality and craftsmanship.

Hopefully, in the near future, I can offer shifters only for purchase outright. When ordering a custom unit on exchange basis please allow 6 to 8 weeks turn-around time.
